Woman dies of injuries after being hit by car in ClovisCLOVIS, NM - A woman has died of injuries suffered in a pedestrian accident in Clovis earlier this month, reports Eastern New Mexico News. The victim of the Feb. 6 incident was identified as 43-year-old Lisa Gutierrez-Ruiz. According to police, Gutierrez-Ruiz was walking across Jones Street near the intersection with Seventh Street at about 9 p.m. when she was struck by a westbound vehicle turning on to Jones Street. The victim passed away last Friday in a hospital in Lubbock.

Woman charged with ramming Bernalillo County deputy's carBERNALILLO COUNTY, NM - A woman is facing multiple charges after authorities say she rammed the vehicle of a Bernalillo County deputy on Friday night. The Albuquerque Journal reports 18-year-old Ashley Loya was allegedly fleeing from an illegal street race near Isleta Amphitheater when the incident occurred. The racing was said to have involved about 70 vehicles and was reported in the area of Bobby Foster Road and University Boulevard.

Woman struck, killed by alleged drunk driver in AlbuquerqueALBUQUERQUE, NM - Police said a pedestrian was struck and killed by a suspected drunk driver in Albuquerque Friday night, according to the Albuquerque Journal. The victim was a woman who was hit in the vicinity of Menaul Boulevard and Mesilla Street in the Uptown area sometime before 9 p.m. Witnesses said the driver of a truck went onto the sidewalk and hit a light pole before striking the pedestrian, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
