2 injured in Albuquerque collision involving stolen SUVALBUQUERQUE, NM - Police said a crash involving a stolen vehicle in Albuquerque Monday morning left an adult and child critically injured. According to the Albuquerque Journal, the incident began when a man stole a state-owned vehicle from the New Mexico State Fair Grounds. The driver of the stolen Chevy SUV went through a stop sign in the area of Bell Avenue and San Pedro Drive and collided with a Jeep SUV, police said.

Pedestrian fatally struck by vehicle on I-10 in Luna CountyLUNA COUNTY, NM - A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on Interstate 10 in Luna County, New Mexico State Police said. In a news release, NMSP said the incident took place March 17 on I-10 east near mile marker 102 east of Deming. According to investigators, a man was in the middle of the roadway on the interstate at about 9:20 p.m. when he was hit by a passing vehicle. The victim, identified as 72-year-old Marcos Jaime Recarte-Osorio of Pasadena, California, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver involved was not injured.

BCSO deputies on scene of rollover crash near NM 333ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office deputies were at the scene of a rollover crash on Monday morning. The BCSO tweeted a traffic alert at 8:38 a.m., saying the accident occurred near New Mexico 333 at mile marker 4, four miles east of Central Avenue and Tramway Boulevard. The driver involved was reported to be conscious and breathing, but the extent of the injuries was not yet known.

Multi-vehicle crash closes lanes on I-40 east of GallupGALLUP, NM - New Mexico State Police are investigating a crash that shut down a stretch of Interstate 40 Friday morning, reports the Albuquerque Journal. The multi-vehicle wreck took place on I-40 near mile marker 41, about 15 miles east of Gallup. The New Mexico Department of Transportation reported the incident on NM Roads at about 9:15 a.m., saying all lanes of I-40 had been shut down in both directions near exit 39. There were no reports of injuries.

The police car and another vehicle collided in the area of Lomas Boulevard and Louisiana Boulevard NE, causing the police vehicle to catch fire. One person in the other vehicle was hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening.
