Grand Rapids woman crashes into building in Plainfield Township

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, MI - The Kent County Sheriff's Office was on the scene of a crash in Plainfield Township on Thursday evening.

According to a report by Fox 17, a driver crashed her vehicle into a building in the 5300 block of Plainfield Avenue just after 7:30 p.m.  The driver, a 60-year-old Grand Rapids woman, sustained minor injuries.

The incident occurred after the driver reportedly hit the gas pedal accidentally while attempting to brake.

The sheriff's office said alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the accident.  There was minor damage to the building.
