ST. JOSEPH TOWNSHIP, MI - Police said a single-vehicle wreck in St. Joseph Township left a driver dead, according to WOOD TV.
A 35-year-old woman was driving north on Niles Road at about 9:15 a.m. when she veered off the roadway near Lincoln Avenue, witnesses said. The car jumped the curb and then crashed into a utility pole. The woman, a St. Joseph Townshp resident, was freed from the vehicle but died of her injuries.
The St. Joseph Township Police Department is investigating the accident, and said it does not appear that speed or alcohol were contributing factors.
