Driver dies after vehicle crashes into tree in Cass County

CASS COUNTY, MI - The Cass County Sheriff's Office released information regarding a fatal wreck that occurred Friday night in Milton Township, according to WZZM.

The sheriff's office said a man was driving a pickup truck west on Bell Road in Milton Township when the incident occurred at about 8:05 p.m. The pickup went off the road near Ironwood Drive and collided with a tree.

The motorist was pronounced dead after being taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend. He was identified as 60-year-old Michael Jasper of Niles.

Jasper was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, deputies said.
