Driver crashes into Grand Rapids building, causing partial collapse

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Police in Grand Rapids said a two-vehicle collision sent one of the vehicles into a building early Sunday morning.

A report by WZZM states that the incident took place at about 3 a.m. in the area of Eastern Avenue SE and Thomas Street.  According to police, a driver went through a stop sign at the intersection and colliding with another vehicle, causing that vehicle to crash into a two-story abandoned building on the corner.

The incident caused a partial collapse of the brick building.   One of the drivers involved suffered minor injuries.
