16-year-old motorcyclist injured in collision with SUV in Rio Rancho

RIO RANCHO, NM - A collision in Rio Rancho left two people injured, one critically, according to the Rio Rancho Observer.

The accident happened Nov. 21 along Unser Boulevard.  Rio Rancho Police said a 16-year-old motorcyclist was traveling south at a high rate of speed.  At the same time, the driver of an SUV was making a left turn into a gas station, and the motorcycle struck the SUV.

The motorcycle rider was hospitalized in critical condition.  The driver of the SUV sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.
