Pedestrian fatally struck by hit-and-run driver in Santa FeSANTA FE, NM - Police said a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run incident in Santa Fe early Wednesday morning. According to KRQE, officers were called to the scene in the vicinity of St. Francis Drive and Sawmill Road at about 3:30 a.m. A man who had been struck by a vehicle was found in the roadway. The victim, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced dead after being transported to St. Vincent's Hospital.

Man arrested after crashing into New Mexico State Police vehicleTRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES, NM - A man was arrested after crashing into a New Mexico State Police officer's vehicle Sunday night, KTSM reports. The incident began on Interstate 25 south of Truth or Consequences at 10:30 p.m. Authorities said 21-year-old Abraham Quezada of Las Cruces was a passenger in a vehicle with another person on I-25 when Quezada jumped out of the vehicle. When the driver of a pickup truck stopped to help, Quezada jumped into that vehicle but later got out and fled.

Lane closed on I-10 west of Deming following accidentDEMING, NM - Drivers were advised to expect traffic delays in Luna County on Thursday following a crash on Interstate 10. The incident happened on I-10 westbound at mile marker 64, 17 miles west of Deming, according to an alert on NMRoads issued at 9:17 a.m. The driving right lane was shut down in the area as emergency personnal responded to the scene.

Truck driver killed when semi crashes near New Mexico borderROAD FORKS, NM - The New Mexico Department of Transportation alerted drivers to a fatal truck accident Wednesday that shut down a portion of Interstate 10. According to an update from NMRoads at 7:11 a.m. Thursday, the incident happened on I-10 west at mile marker 5 in Arizona, near New Mexico 80 in Road Forks. It involved a semi-tractor trailer that went off the right side of the interstate, struck a guardrail and a bridge pillar. The Albuquerque Journal reports the truck driver was killed in the wreck.

2 men charged with fleeing scene of accident in RoswellROSWELL, NM - Police in Roswell arrested two men Saturday following a crash in a vehicle reported to have been stolen, the Roswell Daily Record reports. The suspects were identified as 41-year-old Michael Paul Smith of Kansas City, Missouri and 25-year-old Zachary Hamilton of Roswell. They were reportedly heading north on Montana Avenue in a 2012 Honda CRV shortly before 8 a.m. and collided with a parked vehicle. The Honda overturned and the suspects were spotted by witnesses fleeing the scene on foot.

Trial date set for woman charged in fatal wreck near Santa FeSANTA FE, NM - A trial date has been set for the driver charged in a fatal accident on Interstate 25 last year, KOB reports. Jeannine Jaramillo, who faces multiple charges in the case, is scheduled to go on trial starting Jan. 24, 2024. Jaramillo was the subject of a high-speed chase on March 2, 2022 on I-25 near Santa Fe. Authorities said she drove the wrong way on the interstate and collided with two Santa Fe police vehicles and another uninvolved vehicle.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Lomas Boulevard NE and Juan Tabo Boulevard. It involved a motorcycle and a single vehicle, according to Albuquerque police. The one injured victim was rushed to an area hospital.

Drivers cited in crash involving Taos County Sheriff's deputyTAOS, NM - A Taos County Sheriff's Office deputy and another driver received citations after their vehicles collided earlier this month, reports the Santa Fe News Mexican. The crash happened April 11 in the vicinity of Este Es Road and Paseo del Pueblo Sur in Taos at about 6:12 p.m. According to the sheriff's office, Deputy Jeffrey Vargas was speeding as he tried to make it through the intersection before the light turned red. His patrol vehicle crashed into a vehicle driven by Virginia Mondragon. Both drivers were injured and taken to Holy Cross Medical Center.
