Pedestrian critically injured after being hit by car in AlbuquerqueALBUQUERQUE, NM - Police said a pedestrian walking in Albuquerque was struck by a car and injured Saturday. According to KOAT, the accident happened near the intersection of Menaul Boulevard and Pan American Freeway. Police said the pedestrian walked into lanes of traffic and into the path of a white Honda Accord going east. The victim was critically injured and rushed to the University of New Mexico Hospital.

Man sentenced for crash near Laguna Pueblo that left 4 deadALBUQUERQUE, NM - A man was sentenced to prison for a 2019 crash in New Mexico that left four people dead, reports KRQE. 50-year-old Alexis Riego of Merritt Island, Florida was sentenced to five years and 10 months behind bars for the accident that occurred Sept. 7, 2019 on Interstate 40. Riego was driving a commercial vehicle in a construction zone near the Laguna Pueblo when he crashed into a line of cars. A total of six vehicles were involved in the wreck. Along with the four people killed, two others were injured.

Multi-vehicle wreck shuts down I-40, leaves several injuredGRANTS, NM - New Mexico State Police responded to the scene of a multi-vehicle accident near Grants on Friday. According to KOAT, the crash happened on Interstate 40 at mile marker 85. Grants Fire and Rescue said it involved a total of three semitrailers and another vehicle, and left several people hospitalized. The injuries were reported to have ranged from minor to major. I-40 was shut down while the wreckage was being cleared, and traffic was diverted until the interstate reopened later on.
