Multi-vehicle wreck shuts down I-40, leaves several injuredGRANTS, NM - New Mexico State Police responded to the scene of a multi-vehicle accident near Grants on Friday. According to KOAT, the crash happened on Interstate 40 at mile marker 85. Grants Fire and Rescue said it involved a total of three semitrailers and another vehicle, and left several people hospitalized. The injuries were reported to have ranged from minor to major. I-40 was shut down while the wreckage was being cleared, and traffic was diverted until the interstate reopened later on.

Motorcyclist injured in accident on Interstate 25 southALBUQUERQUE, NM - A motorcyclist was injured in an accident on Interstate 25 in Albuquerque Sunday, KOB reported. The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office said the crash shut down all lanes of southbound I-25 just south of Sunport exit at about 9 p.m., and motorists were advised to expect delays. The motorcycle rider was listed in stable condition after being taken to an area hospital. All lanes of the interstate were reopened later Sunday night.

Woman dies of injuries after being hit by car in ClovisCLOVIS, NM - A woman has died of injuries suffered in a pedestrian accident in Clovis earlier this month, reports Eastern New Mexico News. The victim of the Feb. 6 incident was identified as 43-year-old Lisa Gutierrez-Ruiz. According to police, Gutierrez-Ruiz was walking across Jones Street near the intersection with Seventh Street at about 9 p.m. when she was struck by a westbound vehicle turning on to Jones Street. The victim passed away last Friday in a hospital in Lubbock.

Woman charged with ramming Bernalillo County deputy's carBERNALILLO COUNTY, NM - A woman is facing multiple charges after authorities say she rammed the vehicle of a Bernalillo County deputy on Friday night. The Albuquerque Journal reports 18-year-old Ashley Loya was allegedly fleeing from an illegal street race near Isleta Amphitheater when the incident occurred. The racing was said to have involved about 70 vehicles and was reported in the area of Bobby Foster Road and University Boulevard.
