Crash shuts down intersection of NM 333 and NM 337TIJERAS, NM - Authorities responded to the scene of a motor vehicle crash that affected traffic in Bernalillo County Thursday night. The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office issued a traffic alert at about 9:37 p.m., saying the accident happened at the intersection of NM 333 and NM 337 in Tijeras. Deputies at the crash site had the intersection blocked to all through traffic in all directions. There was no immediate word regarding any injuries.

Man pleads guilty in accident that killed pedestrian in AlbuquerqueALBUQUERQUE, NM - A man was sentenced after pleading guilty in connection with a fatal crash in Albuquerque, KRQE reported. Elizardo Cortez of Albuquerque was driving in the area of Coal Avenue and Carlisle Boulevard in December 2021 when he struck and killed a pedestrian, Gerald Groth. Authorities said Cortez was driving under the influence of methamphetamine and THC at the time.

Woman killed in crash while driving off-road vehicle in TularosaTULAROSA, NM - New Mexico State Police said a woman was killed in a crash involving an off-road vehicle in Otero County on Sunday night. In a news release, NMSP said the accident happened on Sabinat Lane in Tularosa at about 10:50 p.m. Investigators said 33-year-old Aubrey Pinson of Tularosa was driving a 2021 Polaris side by side vehicle northeast when she drove off the roadway and hit a road sign and a telephone pole.

Pedestrian hospitalized after being hit by car in AlbuquerqueALBUQUERQUE, NM - Albuquerque police investigated an accident that injured a pedestrian last week, KOB reports. The victim was hit by a vehicle Friday morning in the area of Menaul Boulevard NE and Carlisle Boulevard NE in an incident that was reported at about 10:15 a.m. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital, and was listed in stable condition. Eastbound Menaul Boulevard was shut down at Carlisle Boulevard for the investigation, and drivers were advised to avoid the area.

Rollover accident in Sunland Park sends 9 to hospitalSUNLAND PARK, NM - Authorities said nine people were injured when their vehicle was involved in a rollover crash in Sunland Park on Monday night. According to a report by KFOX, the wreck happened on Pete Domenici Highway near mile marker 6 at about 10:30 p.m. The report quotes a Border Patrol spokesperson as saying it appeared there were 13-15 people in the vehicle at the time. Border Patrol responded to the scene along with Dona Ana County and Sunland Park fire crews. The injured victims were transported to area hospitals, with several of them seriously injured. No information was provided on the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Bicyclist injured in collision with vehicle in South ValleySOUTH VALLEY, NM - A bicyclist was injured in an accident in South Valley Wednesday morning, the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office said. The incident happened in the area of Isleta Boulevard and Goff Boulevard, the BCSO said in a tweet at 9:27 a.m. The bicycle rider was involved in a collision with a vehicle, and was transported to a hospital in stable condition. The sheriff's office said all northbound lanes of Isleta Boulevard/Arenal at Goff Boulevard SW were closed due to the crash.

Driver sought in fatal Las Cruces street racing crashLAS CRUCES, NM - A search is continuing for one of the drivers involved in an incident that led to a fatal crash in Las Cruces last month, reports KVIA. The wreck, which was believed to have involved two vehicles that were street racing, took place in the area of Lohman Avenue and Espina Street on Feb. 21. According to police, a 17-year-old boy was speeding while driving a Dodge Ram eastbound on Lohman Avenue at about 10:30 p.m. The teen said he was racing another vehicle at the time on Lohman. The 17-year-old went through a red light and collided with a Hyundai Sonata at the intersection with Espina Street.

1 injured in multi-vehicle collision at South Main St. in RoswellROSWELL, NM - One person was injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Roswell last week, according to the Roswell Daily Record. Three vehicles were involved in the collision, which happened Thursday morning in the vicinity of South Main Street and Brasher Road at about 7:45 a.m. First responders arrived at the scene to render aid to the injured person.
