ALBUQUERQUE, NM - The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office said a crash involving a wrong-way driver disrupted traffic in Albuquerque Saturday night.
The accident happened in the area of 2nd Street and Paseo Del Norte Boulevard, the BCSO said in its notification at 9:37 p.m. The BCSO said a driver going in the wrong direction crashed into oncoming eastbound traffic. Alcohol was suspected as a contributing factor in the incident. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
All of eastbound Paseo Del Norte was closed near 2nd Street with traffic diverted onto 2nd Street. Drivers were advised to expect significant delays. The BCSO reminded motorists once again not to drink and drive.
