Woman killed when car crashes into trees in Elkhart County

BAUGO TOWNSHIP, IN - A woman died when her car was involved in a wreck early Tuesday morning in Baugo Township, WBND reports.

The Baugo Township Fire Department was called to the scene on Ash Road near County Road 26 after the accident occurred at about 9:09 a.m.

An investigation indicated that 38-year-old Sasha Kenyon was driving a 2004 Chevy Malibu south at a high rate of speed when she drove off the west side of the roadway.

The vehicle collided with multiple trees before splitting in half, police said.  Kenyon, a Marcellus resident, was ejected from the car and died at the scene.  She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
