Woman injured after driver goes through stop sign in Elkhart County

ELKHART COUNTY, IN - A driver was cited for a collision in Elkhart County on Monday afternoon that sent another driver to the hospital.

WNDU reported details of the incident that occurred shortly before 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of C.R. 5 and C.R. 2.   Authorities said the driver of a 2024 Hyundai Palisade was heading east on C.R. 2, ignored a stop sign, and failed to yield the right of way to a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox going southeast on C.R. 5, resulting in a collision.

The Chevrolet driver, a 34-year-old Elkhart woman, was taken to Beacon Granger ER with chest pain.

The driver of the Hyundai, identified as 49-year-old Jennifer Stabler of Bristol, was cited for Disregarding Stop Sign (Failure to Yield Right of Way).
