Woman fatally struck by car while riding bicycle in Anderson

ANDERSON, IN - A crash at an intersection in Anderson Monday night left a bicycle rider dead, reports WISH.

Police responded to the scene in the area of State Road 9 and University Boulevard after the incident occurred at about 10:10 p.m. An investigation indicated that the bicyclist was riding east through the intersection and was struck by a northbound Ford sedan.

The bicycle rider, identified as 27-year-old Selena Lorenzana of Anderson, suffered fatal injuries. The driver of the car, 29-year-old Aaron Thomas of Anderson, notified 911 of the crash and was reported to be cooperating with investigators.

Any witnesses were asked to contact Anderson police.
