ALBUQUERQUE, NM - New Mexico State Police said a driver died in a wreck involving five vehicles on Interstate 40 in Albuquerque on Friday.

According to a KOB report, the incident occurred as traffic was backed up on Interstate 40 east approaching Interstate 25.  The driver of a Honda Civic reportedly did not slow down for the traffic and crashed into the back of a GMC SUV, causing a chain-reaction collision with three other vehicles.

The Civic driver was killed in the wreck, and was identified as 26-year-old Chamar Gallegos of Albuquerque.  Investigators said she was not wearing a seat belt.  No one else was injured.
