Van driver dies following wreck on U.S. 20 Bypass in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, IN - A driver was found dead following a single-vehicle accident in South Bend on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

WNBD reports police were called to the scene at about 4:30 p.m. on the westbound U.S. 20 Bypass near Miami Street. South Bend officers arrived to find that a van had gone off the roadway and crashed into the center median.

The driver, whose identity was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe the victim may have suffered a medical emergency before the accident.
