HENDRICKS COUNTY, IN - A driver was killed in a collision at an intersection in Hendricks County on Friday morning, reports WTHR.
The accident, involving a pickup truck and a trash truck, occurred about five miles north of Danville just before 7:30 a.m.
An investigation by the Hendricks County Sheriff's Office indicated that the driver of a westbound Chevrolet pickup went through a stop sign at County Road 500 North and State Road 39. The Chevrolet was then struck by a southbound trash truck.
The driver of the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff's office said the victim was a 25-year-old North Salem man. The trash truck driver sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.
The intersection was shut down for about three hours during the crash investigation, which is ongoing. At this point, drugs and alcohol do not appear to have been contributing factors.
