Suspected drunk driver involved in fatal accident in Fishers

FISHERS, IN - One driver was killed and another was hospitalized after their vehicles collided in Fishers early Friday morning, police said.

WXIN reports the accident occurred on E. 96th Street near I-69 shortly after midnight. It involved a 2009 GMC Yukon and a 2014 Ford Mustang.

The driver of the Yukon was killed in the wreck, and was identified as 40-year-old Christopher Brown. The driver of the Mustang was taken to a hospital with undisclosed injuries. Police said the Mustang driver was suspected of driving while impaired and operating the vehicle at an excessive rate of speed prior to the collision.

Traffic was blocked from E. 96th Street to I-69 for several hours while the Fishers Police Crash Reconstruction Team and emergency crews worked at the scene.
