QUAY COUNTY, NM - The Quay County Sheriff's Office said one of its vehicles was involved in a fatal collision on Highway 54 last week.
The sheriff's office released details of the incident a Facebook post on Jan. 5 at 7:08 p.m. It said that while a deputy was conducting a crash investigation of a commercial motor vehicle, another CMV struck the patrol unit. The CMV then crashed into another vehicle, resulting in one fatality. No information was released on the person who was killed. The deputy was not injured in the wreck.
The accident caused Highway 54 to be shut down for several hours.
