ALBUQUERQUE, NM - A truck crash in northeast Albuquerque early Saturday morning sent six people to the hospital, KOAT reports.
The rollover accident occurred in the vicinity of San Mateo Boulevard NE and Cherokee Road NE at about 2 a.m. Albuquerque poice said a truck was heading north on San Mateo Boulevard when the driver lost control and crashed after passengers began arguing.
Six of the seven people in the vehicle were taken to an area hospital. Three of the them were seriously injured including the driver, identified as 18-year-old Eddie Madrid. One of the victims was reported to have suffered life-threatening injuries. All of the occupants were between ages 15 and 20.
Investigators believe speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the incident. DWI charges against Madrid are pending.
