Person working on disabled vehicle killed in crash along US-131

GUN LAKE TOWNSHIP, MI - The Allegan County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly accident that occurred along US 131 on Wednesday morning, according to a WKZO report.

It happened in the southbound lanes of the highway near the 48 mile marker in Gun Plain, where two people were working on a disabled SUV at about 6 a.m.

Investigators said the SUV was hit by a pickup truck. One of the people who had been working on the vehicle was killed, while the other individual was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.

The pickup driver was arrested at the scene and taken to the Allegan County Jail to face charges in connection with the incident.
