ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Police are investigating a pedestrian fatality that occurred in southeast Albuquerque on Thursday night.
According to KOB, the incident took place in the area of Trumbull Avenue SE and San Pedro Street SE at about 9:40 p.m. Witnesses told police that the driver of a dark-colored vehicle was heading west on Trumbull Avenue at a high rate of speed as two people were walking in the roadway.
One of the pedestrians jumped out of the way, but the other, a female, was struck by the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said the driver involved left the scene without stopping to help.
