INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Police in Indianapolis were at the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident on Tuesday night, WTHR reports.
Officers were called to the area of Shelby Street and Lawrence Avenue on the south side of the city at about 8 p.m. An investigation indicated that a man was walking across Shelby Street and was struck by a northbound vehicle. The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name was not released.
The driver involved was reported to be cooperating with detectives. Police are continuing to investigate the crash, which shut down Shelby Street in the immediate area.
