ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Albuquerque police said they are investigating a hit-and-run incident that killed a pedestrian last week.
In a news release, police said officers were dispatched to the scene Oct. 6 in the area of Louisiana Boulevard and Indian School Road at about 11:10 p.m.
The Fatal Crash Unit's investigation determined that the pedestrian was in the north crosswalk walking eastbound with a red crossing light and a green light for cross traffic.
Video showed the traffic light was green as an Izuzu SUV entered the intersection. The light turned yellow and then red just before the vehicle went through the intersection and struck the pedestrian, who was carried forward on the SUV before falling off. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the SUV kept going after the crash northbound from Louisiana Boulevard NE onto Menaul Boulevard NE, where it last seen traveling west. Further updates will be provided by our Albuquerque car accident lawyer as more information becomes available regarding the incident.
