DELAWARE COUNTY, IN - A man was killed in a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision in Delaware County on Tuesday night, according to a post on X by Fox59.
The Delaware County Sheriff's Office said the 60-year-old victim was walking on North Nebo Road at about 7:09 p.m. when he was struck by a northbound Nissan. Responding deputies said the man aws reportedly homeless and pulling a utility cart at the time of the crash. He was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital.
The driver of the Nissan, a 45-year-old Delaware County man, said he did not see the pedestrian until the moment of the collision. Investigators said the driver reportedly consumed alcohol but successfully completed field sobriety tests. The driver was released pending further investigation into the incident.
