INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Police responded to the scene of an accident in Indianapolis that killed a pedestrian on Wednesday night, WTHR reports.
Investigators said a man was hit by a vehicle in the 2000 block of North Sherman Drive in the vicinity of East 21st Street on the city's east side at about 9:30 p.m. The victim, whose identity was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is being labeled as a hit-and-run following a report that the driver involved fled the scene of the crash.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating.
