ALBUQUERQUE, NM - One person lost their life Wednesday night due to a pedestrian crash in east Albuquerque's Holiday Park area, according to KOB4.
The incident unfolded on a span of Tramway Boulevard that runs from Candelaria Road to Comanche Road.
Investigators determined that a vehicle was traveling between 55 yo 60 mph in the far right lane of the southbound road when it approached the victim, who was facing away from traffic.
Despite the driver's efforts to brake and avoid a crash, their vehicle struck the pedestrian. First responders pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.
Officials said the driver, who stopped in the area of Tramway and Menaul Boulevard to call first responders, did not appear impaired.
An investigation remains in progress.
