ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Rush-hour drivers in Albuquerque were encountering traffic backups Wednesday morning due to a crash on Interstate 25.
The New Mexico Department of Transportation issued an alert regarding the incident on NMRoads at about 8:21 a.m.
The accident happened on I-25 southbound at mile marker 226, at the Interstate 40 westbound ramp. The scene was the Big I, the interchange where I-25 and I-40 intersect. The right lane of I-25 was closed due to a motorist aid, officials said.
Motorists were advised to expect heavy delays through the area.
