ALBUQUERQUE, NM - New Mexico State Police were called to the scene of a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 40 on Thursday morning.
In an advisory on X at 8:47 a.m., NMSP said the crash shut down I-40 in both directions at mile post 122 west of Albuquerque. It was reported to be a weather-related incident. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
Drivers were advised to seek alternate routes until the scene could be cleared. Mutliple other crashes were reported on I-40 due to hazardous road conditions, including black ice.
