HANCOCK COUNTY, IN - The Hancock County Sheriff's Office said a pickup truck and a motorcycle were involved in a deadly collision on Friday.
According to a report by WRTV, the accident happened in the vicinity of U.S. 40 and Carthage Pike in Charlottesville at about 5:20 p.m.
Investigators said the driver of a 2006 Ford F-150 pickup truck was going north on South Carthage Road and began to cross into the eastbound lanes of U.S. 40, where the vehicle was hit by an eastbound 2010 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as 58-year-old Tony West of New Castle. Authorities said he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The Ford driver, 70-year-old Randy Mathis of Charlottesville, was reported to be cooperating with investigators and voluntarily submitted to blood and alcohol tests.
