Motorcyclist dies following rear-end collision in NE Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Police are investigating a fatal wreck that occurred in northeast Albuquerque on Wednesday morning.

A report by KOB states that the incident occurred in the vicinity of Candelaria Road NE and San Mateo Boulevard NE at about 6 a.m. 

According to the initial investigation, the driver of a Vespa Primavera motorcycle was turning out of a gas station parking lot into the roadway when it was struck from behind by an Infiniti Q60 that was going north on San Mateo Boulevard.

The Vespa driver was pronounced dead at the scene.  The identity of the victim was not immediately released.
