Motorcyclist, 64, dies after colliding with SUV in Marshall County

MARSHALL COUNTY, IN - A LaPorte man died after his motorcycle was involved in a collision north of Plymouth on Thursday morning.

A report by WBND states that the victim was identified as 64-year-old Steven E. Parker. According to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, Parker crashed with a 2014 GMC Terrain SUV in the area of Michigan Road and 6A Road shortly before 10:13 a.m.

First responders attempted to treat Parker at the scene but he was declared dead. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The driver of the Terrain, 27-year-old Maria J. Hernandez-Banegas of Bremen, was not injured.

The sheriff's office does not believe drugs or alcohol contributed to the accident, but the investigation remains ongoing.
