Motorcycle rider dies after colliding with car in NE Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM - A car and a motorcycle were involved in a deadly collision in northeast Albuquerque on Tuesday night, according to police. 

KRQE reported details of the incident, which took place in the area of Monte Vista Boulevard and Marquette Avenue.  Accident investigators determined that a motorcyclist was going west on Marquette Avenue at a high rate of speed shortly before 8:45 p.m. and went through a stop sign at the intersection.

At that point, the motorcycle struck the front corner of a Toyota Corolla going northbound on Monte Vista Boulevard.  The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike and hit a curb across the street.  The rider, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
