ELKHART, IN - Police and emergency crews were dispatched to the scene of a six-car wreck at an intersection in Elkhart on Tuesday, reports WNDU.
The crash at the intersection of E. Bristol Street and Osolo Road sent one man to the hospital. A preliminary investigation indicated that the driver of a GMC Acadia hit a Honda Accord and a Chrysler Pacific at about 12:10 p.m. The impact sent the Accord into two other vehicles, while the Acadia also struck a Ford F-250 pickup truck.
The driver of the Acadia was extricated from his vehicle by firefighters and rushed to an area hospital with what were described as potentially life-threatening injuries. No one else was seriously injured.
The intersection was shut down for several hours while the wreckage was being cleared from the scene and authorities conducted their investigation.
The cause of the accident has yet to be determined.
