CLOVIS, NM - A Clovis man has pleaded guilty in connection with a fatal hit-and-run collision in November 2023, reports Myhighplains.com.
The incident took place on Curry Road K between Curry Road 7 and 8 where a bicyclist, identified as 57-year-old Dawn Renee Dozier, was found dead by Curry County sheriff's deputies.
Ninth Judicial District Attorney Quentin Ray said that 45-year-old Fernando Chavez-Molina later admitted to hitting Dozier with his vehicle and leaving the scene.
Chavez-Molina was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to Knowingly Leaving the Scene of an Accident (Great Bodily Harm or Death) and Attempted Tampering with Evidence.
