INDIANAPOLIS, IN - A collision involving an Indianapolis police vehicle sent a pedestrian to the hospital on Sunday afternoon, WRTV reports.
The incident took place in the 8300 block of Michigan Road. According to the Indianapolis Metropoitan Police Department, a police officer was making a turn out of a parking lot at about 2:30 p.m. when the marked patrol car struck a man walking across Michigan Road.
The pedestrian was listed in critical condition after being taken to an area hospital. The police officer, who was on duty at the time, was not injured. The officer was taken to an area hospital for a blood draw, as is standard procedure in such cases.
The accident remains under investigation by the the IMPD Internal Affairs Unit.
