SANTA FE, NM - The Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a man who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle, reports the Santa Fe New Mexican.
The victim, a man about 40 years of age, was found dead Thursday morning near 811 Monarch Mountain Mine, a remote road west of Santa Fe. His identity was not immediately released.
His body was discovered by deputies from the sheriff's office who were called to the scene at about 8:31 a.m. It was not yet clear whether the man had been struck by the vehicle before or after he died.
A preliminary investigation did not indicate any signs of foul play, the sheriff's office said.
