Man dies after being struck by hit-and-run driver in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Grand Rapids police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident that took place early Sunday morning.

MLive.com reports officers were called to the scene at Division Avenue South near Andre Street at about 3:15 a.m. and found a man in the roadway. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead.

An investigation indicated that the victim was struck by a vehicle headed north that left the scene after the crash. Anyone with further information about the incident was asked to contact the Grand Rapids Police Department.

The victim's identity was not immediately released.
