GRAND RAPIDS, MI - A collision in Grand Rapids on Wednesday morning left a pedestrian dead, WWMT reports.
Authorities said a man was trying to walk across East Beltline Avenue at Leonard Street at about 6:30 a.m. when he was hit by a vehicle. The pedestrian, whose name was not released, died at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle involved stayed at the scene. The Grand Rapids Traffic Unit is investigating the incident, and does not believe alcohol was a contributing factor.
The southbound lanes of Beltline were closed during the accident response and investigation.
