Man accused of driving under influence in crash with Marion school bus

MARION, IN - A man is facing charges after his car collided with a Marion Community Schools bus on Wednesday, WXIN reports.

The driver, identified as 44-year-old Jason Ullery, was behind the wheel of a Dodge Charger when the crash occurred at the intersection of West 4th Street and South Baldwin Avenue shortly before 2:49 p.m.

According to police, Ullery failed to stop at a red light and crashed into the school bus, which had the right of way.  No injuries were reported at the scene, though Ullery was taken to an area hospital.   Two children were on the bus at the time of the accident.

Police said Ullery later admitted to heroin use, and he was subsequently charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated along with driving while suspended.
