SANTA FE, NM - A bicyclist was injured in a hit-and-run incident in Santa Fe recently, the Santa Fe New Mexican reports.
Police were called to the scene June 18 in the area of Airport Road and Paseo del Sol at about 6:40 p.m. An investigation found that a 38-year-old man was riding a bicycle across Airport Road when he was hit by a pickup truck in the westbound lane. The bicyclist was taken to an area hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
Santa Fe police said the driver of the pickup left the scene. A witness took photos of the vehicle involved, a 2013 silver Chevrolet Silverado. Police said the driver, a woman, subsequently contacted police but it was not yet clear whether she would face charges in the case.
Airport Road was shut down between South Meadows Road and Paseo del Sol for several hours for the accident investigation. Should any additional information come to light, our Albuquerque car accident lawyer will update this news blog.
