Fleeing driver involved in fatal accident in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM - A fleeing driver was involved in a fatal crash in northeast Albuquerque on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

A report by KRQE states that a driver fled from police officers near Central Avenue and Pennsylvania Street at about 4:20 p.m. The vehicle then crashed into another vehicle near Marquette Avenue and Espanola Street.

The crash left one person dead at the scene while two others were injured. The driver who fled was taken into custody.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by the Albuquerque Police Department's Multi-Agency Task Force.
