GRANTS, NM - A road closure was in effect in Grants after an accident involving a truck on Wednesday night, Grants Fire and Rescue said.
The rescue squad said in a Facebook post at 1:20 a.m. that a semi-truck crashed into a bridge along 5th Street, forcing the street to be shut down from Santa Fe Avenue to San Jose Drive.
No injuries were reported in the accident. Emergency crews responded to the scene to clear the wreckage on the roadway. Inspectors were also called in to evaluate the bridge to make sure it is safe for trains to be operating on
The Grants Police Department is investigating the cause of the incident. Drivers were advised to avoid the area.
