Fatal accident snarls traffic on Interstate 465 in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Indiana State Police and emergency crews were on the scene of a fatal crash on the west side of Indianapolis Thursday morning.

According to an advisory from WIBC Traffic at 8:49 a.m., the accident happened on Interstate 465 northbound before Washington Street/U.S. 40. No further details were released on the fatality.

Traffic was stopped past the Sam Jones Expressway, and drivers were advised to use caution in navigating the crash site. State Police said lengthy delays would be expected for several hours.
