SANTA FE, NM - The New Mexico State Police initiated a search for the driver involved in a fatal crash on Interstate 25 Sunday afternoon, the Santa Fe New Mexican reports.
The accident took place along Interstate 25 northbound between Santa Fe and Eldorado at about 1 p.m. State Police said an unknown vehicle made a turn in front of a 2022 Kia passenger vehicle and caused that car to go off the roadway, where it rolled over.
One occupant of the Kia was pronounced dead after being rushed to an area hospital. She was identified as 37-year-old Kristina Esterheld of Arvada, Colorado. The other person in the Kia was hospitalized with undisclosed injuries.
