ALBUQUERQUE, NM - A driver and an Albuquerque police officer were injured when their vehicles collided on Monday evening.
Police told the Albuquerque Journal that the driver of a Toyota Camry was seen on surveillance video going through a stop sign on Snow Vista Boulevard SW at about 6:40 p.m The Camry crossed at least one lane of traffic and pulled into the path of the officer, who was responding to a previous crash near Interstate 40.
The officer's vehicle T-boned the Camry, which was driven by a teenager. The teen was seriously injured but was expected to make a full recovery. The police officer sustained minor injuries.
The investigation indicated that the officer was driving with the flow of traffic and not speeding at the time of the collision.
The incident is being investigated by Albuquerque Police Department fatal crash detectives and the Rio Rancho Police Department.
