INDIANAPOLIS, IN - A head-on collision on the north side of Indianapolis left one of the drivers dead, according to WXIN.
The two vehicles crashed Thursday night at the intersection of North Meridian Street and West 79th Street. Indianapolis police officers arrived at the scene at about 10:08 p.m. and found one of the vehicles had gone up in flames with a woman inside. Efforts by police and a passerby to remove her from the vehicle were unsuccessful and she died at the scene.
The victim was identified as 56-year-old Paula Renee Condon. The other driver was not injured, remained at the scene, and cooperated with detectives. No one else was in either vehicle.
The crash is under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropoitan Police Department.
