Driver, 3 students hurt when school bus hits building in Randolph County

RANDOLPH COUNTY, IN - An accident involving a school bus in Randolph County on Wednesday left four people injured, police said.

A report by WRTV states that the incident occurred on W. Hickory Street in Union City, where the bus crashed into a building.  The 20 students on board the bus were evacuated safely, but three of them were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The bus driver was trapped inside the vehicle after the wreck.  Investigators learned that the crash took place after the driver, 69-year-old Jacqueline Stump, suffered a medical emergency.  She was transported to an area hospital for evaluation.

The Union City Police Department and Randolph County Sheriff's Department are investigating the incident.
