ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Several crashes were causing backups for drivers along Interstate 40 in the Albuquerque area on Tuesday morning.
According to notifications posted on NMRoads, the first incident occurred on I-40 westbound at mile marker 164 at Wyoming Boulevard at 7:37 a.m., and shut down the right two lanes and right shoulder of the interstate.
Another crash was reported at 7:57 a.m., this one on I-40 eastbound at San Mateo Boulevard. The left lane and left shoulder were closed at mile marker 162.
About six minutes later, a third accident took place on I-40 east at mile marker 157 near 12th Street (Rio Grande Boulevard), shutting down the left lane and shoulder. In each instance, drivers were advised to use caution and expect traffic delays when traveling through the areas.
